# AEW Star To Undergo Double Knee Replacement Surgery

An AEW star has revealed that they are set to undergo double knee replacement surgery following their match on TV last week.

On last week’s special Thursday night episode of AEW Collision, Dustin Rhodes defended his TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher in the main event of the show.

The brutal match saw Fletcher defeat Rhodes to capture the title that Dustin had captured at All In Texas last month.

The ending of the match saw Fletcher drive a screwdriver into the knee of Rhodes, and the angle was seemingly done to cover for a legitimate injury to Dustin.

[Taking to Twitter](https://x.com/dustinrhodes/status/1952804495039316107), Dustin revealed that both his knees are ‘destroyed’, and that he is set for surgery on August 21 to undergo double knee replacement surgery.

He said:

*Knees are both destroyed. I have to go under the knife August 21st. They can’t actually fix the damage so we are getting 2 knee Replacements. Damn! #KeepSteppin By the way…….This Is NOT THE END*

[In a follow up post](https://x.com/dustinrhodes/status/1952809038493753377), he wrote:

*Is hard as this is and how much I hurt right now, very nervous but excited to start from scratch and build back better. 6 million dollar man type shit. Been a hard recovery this week and still suffering from that match but what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.*

*I promise to push myself as hard as possible to make it back. I still got lots to do. But in the mean time, just want to say thank you to you all for checking on me and giving me words of encouragement.*

*Can’t believe me and my brother both had street fights within 4 days of each other.*

*Truly excited for whatever comes next in @AEW!!! Love it here. And damn……5\*\*\*\*\* match at 56! Never let anybody tell u you cant do or accomplish something. Never quit. Grateful*
