It appears as if All Elite Wrestling has taken a page out of WWE’s playbook. While not confirmed, it appears that one of their stars has undergone a name change. A bit of a puzzling one, at that.
One of AEW’s more recent and impressive signings has been that of Will Hobbs. Hobbs signed with the company in September and turned heel last week on Dynamite, joining Team Taz. Now, it looks like
his name has been changed to “Powerhouse Hobbs”.
AEW’s tweet from November 24 appears to show Hobbs with his new name.

However, in a later tweet, the graphic reverted back to saying Will Hobbs but he was still called Powerhouse in the body of the tweet itself.

The official AEW website has not shown any change in name for Hobbs so we will likely have a better idea tonight on Dynamite. While his opponent has not been named, Hobbs will be wrestling for the first time since joining Team Taz tonight.
Last week Hobbs turned on Cody Rhodes, hitting him with the FTW Championship. Taz had been trying to recruit Hobbs for months with Hobbs rejecting his offers until now.
