An All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star seems to be a bit unhappy about his match at the upcoming November 7 Full Gear pay-per-view.
Cody has reacted to his TNT Title defence against Darby Allin in a community text message, which was obviously him working so don’t read too much into it, but he doesn’t sound pleased about facing Allin again.
He wrote:
After sitting out of “All Out”…admittedly I was expecting a grander return to PPV. I dig Darby. I solely recruited Darby here, and I respect his Top-5 ranking and his 12-5 record, BUT… how many chances should Darby receive? He’s stood across from me 3 times and he’s never had his hand raised. I won’t take him lightly, but I really shouldn’t be taking him at all. Let’s #DoTheWork and win!
It has been explained on AEW Dynamite that Allin earned the TNT Title shot by virtue of a win over Ricky Starks on the September 24 episode.
Cody retained the TNT Title in a lumberjack match on last night’s Dynamite against Orange Cassidy thanks to outside interference from Dark Order’s John Silver, who now has a match with Cassidy on the Full Gear pre-show.
