Popular Star ‘Really Wants’ AEW Show In Arena Mexico AEW

Current CMLL World Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale says she “really wants” AEW to do a show in Arena Mexico.

At NJPW x CMLL Fantasticamania: Lucha Libre USA, Willow Nightingale defeated Viva Van and Lluvia to win the CMLL World Women’s Championship.

Since then, Nightingale successfully defended the title against Deonna Purrazzo on AEW Battle of the Belts XI.

Speaking to That Hashtag Show, Willow Nightingale expressed that she “really wants” AEW to do a show in Arena Mexico. She said:

“But after I won the championship, the TBS, I was like, okay, that was my first big goal within AEW and I’ve done that. What do I wanna do now? And I really wanted to see the company travel internationally.”

“Obviously, we’ve been to Canada. We did All In last year in the U.K. and we’re doing it again this year. But I was like, oh, I love the Japanese fan base, I love the Mexican fan base and the experiences I’ve had there.”

“I’d love to bring our entire company there, and then Forbidden Door, they announced Wrestle Dynasty and I was like, ‘Yes!!! We’re going to the Tokyo Dome.’”

“So, that I think is so cool that we have that coming up. As somebody who has wrestled in Arena México, I really want for us to see if we could do a show there, and since we have CMLL-AEW crossover. That’s really where I see us moving in the future.”

Nightingale has wrestled at Arena Mexico three times in 2024 so far.

Willow Nightingale will team with NJPW’s Tomohiro Ishii to face Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway in a tag team match on Sunday, August 25 at AEW All In London: Zero Hour.
