Why anyone would want to buy the New York Knicks is beyond me. However, Eddie Kingston has not only said he is trying to get Tony Khan to buy the team but he wants to be General Manager too.
While speaking with Fanboy Nation, Kingston discussed his conversations with Khan about the Knicks. Here is the full quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“The times when I do get a chance to talk to [AEW President] Tony [Khan], because he’s very busy with everything, I’m trying to get him to buy the Knicks and make me the GM. If you make me the GM of the Knicks, Patrick Ewing is coming back to be the head coach and we’re gonna bring back bully ball. Get [Knicks owner James] Dolan out of there.”
For any non-basketball fans reading this, the New York Knicks have been one of the laughing stocks of the NBA for several years. However, due to their location, they are also the highest valued team in the league at $4.6 billion.
Despite their status as a bottom-feeding team, New Yorkers remain very passionate about them. There has been public outcry for James Dolan to sell the team in recent years so maybe Tony Khan will view that as a possibility.
