AEW
An AEW star has captured a championship during their debut appearance for an independent wrestling promotion tonight.
AEW star Kris Statlander was announced for her debut appearance for the Pro Wrestling EVE promotion at tonight’s Mean Grrrls event in London.
Statlander would face off against the reigning EVE International Champion Anita Vaughan in a championship match in her debut, and Statlander managed to capture gold, defeating Vaughan to become the new EVE International Champion.
Statlander has already punched her ticket for next weekend’s AEW All In Texas event, with her recently winning a four-way over Athena, Willow Nightingale and Thunder Rosa to earn the first entry into the Casino Gauntlet match.
She is currently in the midst of an ongoing storyline with Willow Nightingale and the Death Riders’ Wheeler Yuta, with her former Best Friends stablemate attempting to recruit her into the Death Riders.
At tonight’s EVE event, it was also announced that AEW stars Julia Hart and Skye Blue would be making their debut appearances for the promotion over Forbidden Door weekend on August 23.
