Report: Some AEW Stars ‘Depressed’ Following CM Punk Fight Incident AEW

Considering how much the story has been in the news, it’s not exactly surprising to hear that more than just the people involved in the reported fight between CM Punk and the Elite have been affected by what happened.

The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter has noted that while many were happy with the quality of this past week’s AEW Dynamite considering everything that preceded the show, others have been left feeling depressed.

Writing in the Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said:

“Several noted how proud they were that after all this bad publicity, that they were able to put together such a strong TV show on 9/7, and most were excited about the future, but others noted being depressed with how everything had gone down over the past week.”

An investigation is currently underway into exactly what happened backstage, with every person involved being interviewed by an external firm. Everyone involved in the fight is suspended for an unconfirmed amount of time, and CM Punk likely won’t be on TV until 2023 after undergoing surgery on a torn triceps muscle.
