While they may not be in WWE anymore, FTR is still on very good terms with Randy Orton. So much so that Orton went to Asheville, North Carolina to work with them on the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever.
Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that Orton wanted to work on his technical wrestling and went to work out with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. The duo are currently working in All Elite Wrestling as the newly dubbed team FTR.
Orton, of course, wrestled and won the “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” against Edge at Backlash. The two put on a hell of a performance, going nearly 45 minutes when Orton hit a low blow and a punt for the win.
Orton and FTR had a short-lived run as a faction in 2019, competing on SmackDown as FTRKO. They were aligned in Orton’s feud with Kofi Kingston but when the feud ended they went their separate ways.
It should also be noted that Cash Wheeler was the one who helped Edge get back in ring shape last year. Edge also lives in Asheville and their workouts were shown during Edge’s WWE 24 documentary.
