The name of the mystery competitor from Swerve Strickland’s Mogul Affiliates group has now been revealed.
On the December 21, 2022 edition of Dynamite, Strickland attacked Keith Lee with Parker Boudreaux and another tattooed competitor.
The group, now going by the Mogul Affiliates, appeared in a vignette on this week’s (February 1) edition of Dynamite. During the video package, the tattooed competitor was referred to as ‘Trench’.
The AEW roster page has now been updated to confirm that Trench will be the talent’s official ring name.
Per Fightful, Trench, real name Granden Goetzman, is a former professional baseball player, and was notably a second round pick by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2011.
Goetzman had been training at Jay Lethal’s wrestling school ahead of his AEW TV debut. According to the report, he was with AEW for a while ahead of this debut.
The Mogul Affiliates made their presence known on the February 3 edition of Rampage, attacking Brian Pillman Jr following his match with Swerve Strickland.
Dustin Rhodes ran down to make the save, chasing Strickland, Boudreaux and Trench off with a turnbuckle hook.
