An update has emerged on Sting potentially appearing at the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame whilst being under contract with AEW.
On March 7 WWE officially announced Lex Luger as the third inductee into the 2025 Hall of Fame class, with Cody Rhodes delivering the news to the former WCW World Champion.
As ever with WWE Hall of Fame inductees there has been speculation amongst fans as to who would be the name to induct Luger at the ceremony in Las Vegas on Friday, April 18, with Luger himself naming Sting and Diamond Dallas Page as his preferred choices.
However, due to Sting being currently signed to a form of AEW legend’s deal after retiring from competition one year ago, it’s not been known whether The Icon will be contractually able to appear at the WWE event.
According to Fightful Select, WWE were planning to make “overtures” to get Sting to appear at the ceremony, if they haven’t already done so, with Luger, and those close to him reportedly informing WWE that Sting was Luger’s preferred choice to induct him.
However, the report also noted that Sting told people that he likely wouldn’t be able to induct Luger into the Hall of Fame due to his contract with AEW.
Sting is set to appear at WrestleCon Las Vegas over WrestleMania 41 weekend, with WrestleCon announcing today that The Icon was set to appear on Saturday, April 19 as well as his originally advertised date on Sunday, April 20.
Over the last several weeks Fightful learned that Sting’s original plans called for him to only be in Las Vegas for WrestleMania 41 week with a “limited schedule”, however, now that has been expanded.
We will provide further updates on Sting potentially appearing at the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame as more information becomes available.
