AEW Star To Undergo Surgery On Long Term Injury AEW

AEW star Matt Sydal has provided an update on his injury status, revealing that he’s set to have surgery today.

Sydal took to Twitter to note that he’s having a procedure on his right foot on Friday (June 14), after over a decade of dealing with the injury.

Thanking AEW’s medical staff, Sydal wrote:

After 12 years of suffering, I’m getting my right foot fixed today. The surgeon has to break and re-fuse three bones, and use hardware to set my toes into the joints.

Thank you to @AEW and our Medical Staff for the care. Thanks to the fans who’ve stuck with me the whole time. Love you all! The best is yet to come…

Sydal last wrestled on the May 22 edition of AEW Dynamite, losing to Konosuke Takeshita in singles action.

Takeshita will be in action at the upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view, competing in the ladder match for the vacant TNT Championship.

At the June 30 event, which will feature talent from AEW and NJPW.
