AEW Champion Makes Surprise Return To Promotion In Home Country AEW

An AEW champion made a surprise return to a promotion in their home country and set out their future goals.

Ahead of his match against Mark Briscoe on February 14 at AEW Grand Slam Australia, Kyle Fletcher made a return to PWA in his hometown of Sydney, Australia, a promotion he has been closely associated with since his early teenage years.

Fletcher not only appeared in the ring, but would go on to commentary duties for PWA Black Label Colosseum at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, Australia.

Footage emerged online of the reaction that Fletcher received as he returned to PWA, TNT Championship in hand, where he addressed the fans, saying:

“Say my full name. Now, when I said I wanted to come home with the TNT Championship, I did not just mean Sydney.

A two-time PWA Tag Team Champion, Fletcher’s first title reign saw him as InstaGraham alongside Unsocial Jordan, as the team of SMS.

His second reign would be with his tag team partner more familiar to AEW audiences, Mark Davis, with the pair known as Aussie Open.

Aussie Open’s time in PWA would come to an end with their January 2022 PWA Tag Team Title vs. Career loss to The VeloCities (Jude London & Paris De Silva) ahead of Fletcher and Davis making their AEW debuts later that year.
