AEW Star Scores Surprising Victory In International Tournament

AEW star Anna Jay scored a huge victory during her debut match for World Wonder Ring STARDOM.

It was previously announced that Jay would be representing All Elite Wrestling in this year’s STARDOM 5Star Grand Prix tournament.

Jay wrestled her first match in the tournament on Saturday (August 10), facing off against Saori Anou.

With Anou previously holding the Wonder of Stardom and Goddesses of Stardom championships, and currently holding the and Artist of Stardom Title as part of the Cosmic Angels, most people felt that she was the favourite heading into this tournament match.

This is why it surprised Anna Jay herself when she managed to pin Anou after reversing her backslide pin attempt.

This match marked Anna Jay’s first match both for STARDOM, and in Japan in general.

Jay is competing in the Blue Stars A block of the tournament.

As she will face everyone in this block in a round robin format, she will have matches against Syuri, Starlight Kid, Xena, Koguma and Miyu Amasaki in the tournament, regardless of how well she does.
