For the first time, All Elite Wrestling has publicly and directly referenced the suspension of a star on-air.
On tonight’s edition (December 2) of AEW Rampage featured AEW commentary publicly addressing a recent suspension on-air for the first time.
During a match between Athena and Dani Mo, commentary referenced her previous incident of attacked referee Aubrey Edwards after a match.
According to commentary, Athena was suspended for five days and also had her pay suspended during that time as well.
Athena and her new dastardly persona will go on to the upcoming Ring of Honor pay-per-view, Final Battle to face ROH Women’s Champion Mercedes Martinez for the title.
Still no public official comment on the suspensions of Andrade el Idolo or CM Punk.
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Rampage, there was a Lumberjack Match for the All-Atlantic Championship between QT Marshall and Orange Cassidy with both the Best Friends and the Factory at ringside.
