More details about Swerve Strickland re-signing with AEW (All Elite Wrestling) have been detailed in a new report.
During the Zero Hour pre-show for All In, a pre-taped segment was shown with Strickland putting pen to paper on a new deal with Tony Khan present.
Via a new report from Fightful Select, further details have emerged regarding the deal, as there were no specifics mentioned on-screen.
The report notes that Strickland originally signed a three-year deal with AEW in March 2022, meaning his contract actually ran to March 2025.
Negotiations began during Strickland’s reign as AEW champion as he had “outperformed” the deal he originally signed.
Elsewhere, the report states that the contract will see him remain in the company “until at least 2028”, although there was no firm confirmation of the exact length.
The report also notes that the deal is “considered one of the biggest deals in company history”.
Swerve Strickland dropped the AEW World Championship in the main event of All In London to Bryan Danielson.
However, he is expected to remain at the “top of the card” under his new deal.
AEW All In London 2024 wrapped up with a number of title changes and surprises from London, England including AEW announcing two new major shows.
