AEW received some backlash from fans yesterday for announcing it had partnered with Susan G Komen for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Susan G Komen is an organisation that doesn’t have a good reputation and many fans were disappointed at the partnership, and pointed to a CM Punk tweet from 2015 when he called out WWE for doing the same.
Punk himself also posted a response on Twitter saying that they were “working on it”, and the initial tweet has now been taken down.
AEW has posted a new tweet that doesn’t name Susan G Komen, or actually any organisation at all, instead just saying donations will be made to the “continued fight against cancer”.
Fans are hoping this means the promotion is looking into a new partnership, rather than just taking SGK out of the tweet.
