In a recent interview, an All Elite Wrestling (AEW) talent confirmed that he is currently out of action due to injury.
Peter Avalon hasn’t wrestled for AEW since the Revolution Casino Tag Team Battle Royale in March. Avalon has confirmed that he has been out of the ring because he’s recovering from an injury.
Speaking on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Avalon recalled the origins of the Wingmen group, consisting of himself, Ryan Nemeth, JD Drake and Cezar Bononi. Stating that the faction was Christian Cage’s idea, Avalon said:
“I think it’s just an idea that when people see something next to each other, it just kind of works. I think the idea for The Wingmen was Christian’s idea… I think he said to put the four of us together, and Tony (Khan) liked it. I was with Cezar already as Pretty Picture and then Nemeth and Drake were together. I had hurt myself… I’m still out with an injury.
“So that had taken me off TV for a little bit. I’m not sure when the decision was made to put us together. I just kinda got filled in and then when I came back, I’m like, ‘Here I am boys, let’s play’.”
Nemeth previously revealed that Christian came up with the faction after noting that they all looked funny together.
A new report has stated that Tony Khan and the AEW EVPs are currently in Chicago, potentially filming promotional footage for an upcoming event.
