An AEW star has reportedly been getting “positive reviews” for their performances in the 2024 Continental Classic tournament thus far.
The third week of the second annual Continental Classic is set to kick off with Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming in Kansas City, MO.
On the show Will Ospreay will take on Claudio Castagnoli in the Gold League, with both stars winning their opening two bouts, while Ricochet will also be taking on fellow Gold League participant Brody King.
After suffering a broken fibula during his opening round match with Will Ospreay on the November 27 edition of Collision, Juice Robinson was replaced in the tournament by Komander, who has went on to compete twice so far in Robinson’s place.
Although the Mexican star has so far tasted defeat to both Ricochet and Darby Allin, Fightful Select has reported that Komander is receiving “positive reviews” in general backstage, but specifically for his performances in the Continental Classic thus far.
The report also added that there were other stars considered to take Robinson’s spot in the tournament before Komander was officially announced, however, there were no details on who these alternate names were.
