AEW Name Comments On WWE Star’s Similar Entrance Music WWE/AEW

AEW’s Taz has commented on the familiar-sounding opening to Tommaso Ciampa’s theme in WWE, reminiscing about his days in the ring.

Ciampa’s WWE theme features the sound of a heartbeat as reported by an electrocardiogram machine commonly found in hospitals.

The familiar beep-beep sound was also the opening to Taz’s theme that WWE fans will recall from his time with the company.

Taz has reminisced about the sound following Ciampa’s match against Giovanni Vinci on the September 18 episode of WWE Raw.

The AEW commentator took to Twitter to share his thoughts, writing:

“When I hear that music… I start reaching for my towel… Then I realize no I’m retired. Lol.”

Highlights from the match can be seen below this news story and saw Ciampa defeat the Imperium member, much to the displeasure of Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser.

Taz signed with WWE in 1999 and would remain with the company until April 2009 joining TNA later that year.

He made his AEW debut in October 2019 as a manager and would make his commentary debut for the company in January 2020.

During his WWE run, Taz was a three time WWF Hardcore Champion and Tag Team Champion (with Spike Dudley).

Taz retired from in-ring competition in June 2006 and would go on to be a commentator and manager.
