While it is subjective like all other wrestling rankings, the Pro Wrestling Illustrated lists have always gotten big reactions from fans. Whether it be the PWI 500 top male wrestlers or the PWI 100 top female wrestlers, it is usually a good time. Now, they have released their list of the top 50 tag teams in wrestling.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, All Elite Wrestling’s FTR topped the list. PWI took to Twitter earlier today to congratulate Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.
Congratulations to @DaxFTR & @CashWheelerFTR for being ranked #1 in the inaugural PWI #TagTeam50!

PWI also revealed the rest of the top ten. Here is the list of PWI’s top ten tag teams of the year:
- FTR
- Hangman Page & Kenny Omega
- Golden Role Models (Bayley & Sasha Banks)
- The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander)
- Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)
- Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa)
- Lucha Bros. (Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero M)
- New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods)
- Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane)
- Roppongi 3K (SHO & YOH)
FTR arrived in AEW earlier this year after being released by WWE. They quickly made an impact in their new promotion, having very good matches with AEW’s large tag division. Ultimately they managed to defeat Hangman Page and Kenny Omega to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship at All Out.
