Following on from the major angle on this past Wednesday’s Dynamite, IMPACT Wrestling isn’t the only promotion AEW wants to work with.
Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW’s philosophy is to work with “everyone”.
Specific promotions he listed were IMPACT, NJPW, AAA, and the NWA. We’ve already seen examples to varying degrees of some kind of relationship between All Elite and all of those promotions.
It was noted that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan has been in contact with Rocky Romero to open the doors to a potential NJPW relationship, with the belief that it’ll be easier now that Harold Meij is gone from New Japan.
Some people have questioned how working with IMPACT actually benefits AEW. Well, it’s created a hot angle that people are interested in, and AEW was keen to hit the ground running into 2021.
It’s still to be seen exactly what the relationship will entail beyond being an angle, but new All Elite Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega will be appearing with Don Callis on IMPACT this coming Tuesday.
