WWE Hall Of Famer Criticizes Tony Khan’s Business Approach

WWE Hall Of Famer Criticizes Tony Khan’s Business Approach AEW

A WWE Hall of Famer has expressed their opinion that Tony Khan’s desire to be seen as a high-level success in the wrestling world.

Referring to his own stewardship of WCW and the decades of success that Vince McMahon had with WWE, Eric Bischoff contrasted this with what he sees Tony Khan doing.

Speaking on 83 Weeks, Bischoff explained why he thinks that Tony’s goal of being in the same conversation as Bischoff and McMahon has led to Khan acting “at the expense of what it takes to get you to that level of success.”

Bischoff would also suggest that some of Khan’s reaction comes down to the lack of respect that Bischoff has shown towards the way that Khan does business in AEW, saying:

“I think Tony reacts more out of emotion.

“I think part of Tony’s reactions is more emotional reactions based on the fact that he’s not getting the kind of respect from me.”

Bischoff has made comments about Khan on a number of occasions, including referring to his “14-year-old boy” storytelling mentality.

It isn’t just from the public comments that Bischoff has come to his conclusion, as he would state:

“I know this as a fact, we have a mutual friend who got a text that basically said so and I’ve heard it from more than one person.

“My criticisms are not meant to be towards Tony the person, I have some admiration for Tony the person, particularly as of late.

“I think Tony the person, is a really good person. I think I disagree with his approach to the business.”

Bischoff has recently addressed the possibility of Khan buying WWE and questioned whether Khan would be able to run the company well.

This stemmed from a previous report that Tony and his father, Shad, were rumored to be interested in a company merger.
