AEW Files Trademark For New Match Stipulation AEW

According to the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) AEW has filed for a new trademark regarding a match stipulation.

On May 15, AEW filed an application to trademark the term ‘DOUBLE JEOPARDY’.

Per the filing, AEW intends to use this term in relation to ‘entertainment services’, specifically ‘in the nature of live wrestling performances’.

The following description accompanied the filing:

Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media

Double Jeopardy is a new match stipulation that sees two champions face off, with the winner earning a shot at the loser’s title.

A Double Jeopardy bout took place on the May 10 edition of Dynamite, with ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli facing off against ROH Tag Team Champion Rey Fenix.

Castagnoli was ultimately victorious, earning himself a ROH Tag Team Title bout against the Lucha Brothers.
