AEW Star Pays Tribute To Sami Zayn After WrestleMania 39 Win

AEW star Cash Wheeler of FTR has shared a nod to Sami Zayn following his victory in the WrestleMania 39 Saturday main event.

In the final match of the April 1 show, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens challenged for The Usos’ WWE Tag Team Championship.

Zayn and Owens ultimately won the title, with Zayn dropping Jey Uso with three Helluva kicks to secure the victory.

This bout went down as the first WrestleMania main event to be contested for the tag titles. It also marked the first time a wrestler of Syrian descent wrestled in the WrestleMania headline match.

Cash Wheeler has now taken to social media with a photo of his choice of shirt for the day. Wheeler’s shirt is notably inspired by Sami Zayn dancing on the April 2, 2021 edition of SmackDown.

Wheeler and Harwood have notably been advocating for promotions to put bigger spotlights on their tag divisions in recent years.

Harwood recently admitted that The Usos have the presentation he wanted for FTR while he and Wheeler were with WWE.

There is some uncertainty surrounding the future of FTR, with a high-stakes bout set for the April 5 edition of AEW Dynamite.

If FTR defeat The Gunns, they will become the AEW Tag Team Champions, however if they lose, they will be forced to leave AEW.
