AEW are said to be ‘very happy’ with a returning star’s performances at both All In London and last night’s Dynamite show.
MJF began his heel run in AEW back in July, when he brutalised Daniel Garcia following his International Championship match against Will Ospreay on Dynamite.
While Garcia was away from Dynamite, MJF captured the AEW International Championship, rebranding it the ‘American Championship’, and defending against Ospreay at All In.
However, Garcia made his return to AEW television at All In, costing MJF the match and title to Ospreay.
He also attacked MJF on last night’s Dynamite show, challenging him to a match at All Out next weekend.
Ahead of arguably the biggest rivalry of Garcia’s AEW career, he has seemingly been impressing those backstage in the company.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), those within the company that spoke to Fightful were said to be very happy with Garcia’s performances both at All In and this week’s Dynamite show following his return.
Despite returning in a big spot at All In, Garcia has still not yet signed a contract extension with AEW, and Fightful notes that they have not yet heard an update on his contract status this week.
