AEW: Dynamite was moved to Saturday night last week from the usual Wednesday slot because of the NBA Playoffs. Despite the day change and the fact the majority of the show went head-to-head with NXT TakeOver, the show brought in a respectable rating.
Saturday night’s Dynamite, which featured a title change as Brodie Lee won the TNT Championship after making light work of Cody, brought in a rather respectable average of 755,000 viewers.
While this was slightly down from the 792,000 average that the 08/12 show brought in. However, a drop was to be expected with the show taking place on a completely different day,
However, because of the aforementioned day change. and the fact the show went head-to-head with a major NXT TakeOver, AEW will likely be rather pleased at losing an average of just 37,000 viewers.
Last week’s AEW: Dynamite scored a 0.31 in the all-important 18-49 demographic. This is only very slightly down from the 0.32 rating that the 08/12 show brought in.
For comparison, NXT last week ran opposed in its usual Wednesday night slot. The show brought in an average of 853,000 viewers. However, NXT brought in o.24 in the 18-49 demo.
This week’s Dynamite has also been rescheduled, as the show will take place on Thursday night (08/27), and is set to be a big show with just two more weeks until AEW All Out next weekend.
