Konosuke Takeshita is set to defend the AEW International Championship for the first time in another company.
At AEW WrestleDream, Konosuke Takeshita defeated Will Ospreay and Ricochet to win the AEW International Championship.
This marked Takeshita’s first singles gold in All Elite Wrestling since arriving in the company back in 2022.
Following his title victory, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling confirmed PWInsider’s report and officially announced that Takeshita will defend the AEW International Championship for the first time against former TNA World Champion Josh Alexander on Saturday, October 20 at MLP Forged In Excellence.
This will mark Takeshita and Alexander’s second one-on-one bout since a match for Garden State Pro Wrestling in July 2022.
That previous meeting went to a 20-minute time limit draw.
It remains to be seen when Takeshita will defend the International Championship on AEW programming at the time of this writing.
