AEW Star’s First Title Challenger In Six Months Revealed? AEW

Ahead of the July 4 edition of ROH TV on Honor Club, AEW star Wheeler Yuta’s first ROH match in six months has been announced.

In January 2024, Wheeler Yuta suffered an injury that kept him sidelined for over five months. After recently making his return to AEW programming, Yuta will now make his way back to Ring of Honor for the first time in 2024.

On July 2, Ring of Honor announced that ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta is set to face Lee Moriarty in a Proving Ground Match on this Thursday’s July 4 episode. The post reads:

#ROH Pure Champion @WheelerYuta of the BCC enters a PROVING GROUND MATCH against someone who has been chasing another chance at the title – @theleemoriarty of STP!

This will be Yuta’s first bout for Ring of Honor since ROH Final Battle 2023. With it being a Proving Ground match, if Moriarty wins, he’ll get a title shot at Yuta’s Pure Championship.

Also announced for this Thursday’s show, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena and ROH Women’s TV Champion Billie Starks will speak.
