The October 2, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite saw Will Ospreay take on his long-time rival and inspiration Ricochet.
The fifth anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite opened with the International Championship match seeing the pair face each other for the first time since August 2017.
With the pair having shared an in-ring history going back more than a decade, they’ve had their fair share of criticism for their style over the years.
The AEW International Champion has now responded to the reaction to his match against Ricochet, tweeting:
“Man 8 years on and it still sparks emotion out of you guys.
“I appreciate the love & hate. It’s all criticism to take on board to help grow us as performers.
“But I think more is to come.”
More will certainly be coming between Ricochet and Ospreay as they’ve been added to AEW WrestleDream on October 12.
That match, as recently reported, will see a three-way match for the AEW International Championship with Konosuke Takeshita also in the mix.
Tony Khan has recently revealed his reasoning behind Will Ospreay versus Ricochet appearing on television instead of an AEW PPV.
Matthew Jackson, of the Young Bucks and an AEW EVP, has recently compared Ospreay and Kenny Omega.
