AEW star Will Ospreay has addressed a former WWE star’s return to the ring after almost a year away.
Charlie – fka Dakota Kai – made her wrestling comeback at the March 8 Pro Wrestling EVE Wrestle Queendom VIII show, unsuccessfully challenging for Kris Statlander’s EVE International Championship.
This match marked Charlie’s first in-ring outing since defeating Ivy Nile on the March 27, 2025 WWE Main Event episode, with the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion being released that May.
Will Ospreay – who served as a backstage producer at Wrestle Queendom VIII – has now taken to Twitter to share a thread highlighting a number of performers and crew members who contributed to the show.
About Charlie, Ospreay wrote:
Charlie.
Nearly a year out of the wrestling bubble and Charlie walks into one of the biggest high profile matches in the history of EVE and showed everyone it’s just like riding a bike.
Cannot tell you enough to be able to have someone of her calibre and to get her comeback match…..honoured to welcome her back to wrestling.
