A top AEW star has asked for a major international event to take place after Tony Khan revealed recent conversations with executives.
Tony Khan is currently at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France and is networking with fellow forward thinkers.
Ahead of Grand Slam: Mexico on June 18, Khan revealed that he’s in France at the advertising festival with decision makers from all over the work in the arena of entertainment, sports and media.
With the event seeing executives from around the world, Khan also commented that:
“There’s lots of really exciting things happening all over the world with AEW… international expansion.”
Khan would note that the Mexico shows are a big opportunity for the company, but also stated that they are:
“Introducing AEW to a lot of the top executives in international entertainment.”
While Khan wouldn’t go into further detail during his initial video, Will Ospreay would offer a suggestion as to a potential path for the discussions, tweeting:
“AEW World Tour, please 🙏”
AEW’s debut in Mexico marks the next stage of Khan’s international vision, having previously run shows in Australia and the United Kingdom.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door has its London debut in August 2025, with England’s capital having been the home of All In.
