Here’s How AEW World Championship Match Effected Quarter Hour Viewership AEW

AEW held it’s huge championship unification match between CM Punk and Jon Moxley on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, with Moxley making quick work of Punk to unify the titles.

The match taking place led to the show scoring it’s highest rating in February, but it’s in the individual quarter hour ratings that the true effect of the title match can be seen.

The match aired right at the start of the second hour, taking place in the 9 – 9:15 quarter. Obviously the match took place so early in the show as to not spoil that it would not be lasting very long, but that had a big effect on the quarter hour ratings for the show.

Here are the quarterly ratings, courtesy of Wrestlenomics:

8:00 – 1,097,000 viewers.
8:15 – 1,046,000 viewers.
8:30 – 1,006,000 viewers.
8:45 – 1,036,000 viewers.
9:00 – 1,198,000 viewers.
9:15 – 1,030,000 viewers.
9:30 – 987,000 viewers.
9:45 – 993,000 viewers.

The main event trios match, pitting Pac, Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix of Death Triangle against Will Ospreay and Aussie Open of United Empire, was awarded a five star rating by Dave Meltzer in this week’s wrestling observer.
