AEW Star’s World Record Not Officially Recognized AEW

An AEW star has explained why his world record attempt is not officially recognized by Guinness World Records.

Darby Allin reached the summit of Mount Everest on May 18, 2025, achieving a feat that only a small percentage of people ever have managed to complete.

Ahead of reaching the summit, Darby Allin shared a video of him performing a skateboard kickflip at the record-breaking altitude of 20,958 feet.

Speaking on Busted Open, Darby Allin has now revealed that Guinness World Records does not recognize this as the highest-altitude kickflip, because he didn’t contact them ahead of this record attempt.

When Bishop Dyer asked if Guinness World Records have sent him a plaque yet, Allin responded:

“They don’t count it, because you’ve got to like get with them first before you do something.

“I’m just like, dude, in my heart, I know I hold the world record. Ain’t nobody doing a kickflip higher than 21,000 plus feet, that was no joke.”

Guinness World Records’ process for individuals attempting records involves submitting a standard application to the organization.

Per the website, GWR provides guidelines or reviews evidence for record attempts within 12 weeks of the application date.

While not specifically a kickflip record, the current Guinness World Record for “highest altitude skateboarding” was set by Sam Newstead and Julian O’Shea in June 2019, who skated at an altitude of 5700 metres (18,700 feet) at the Sairecabur Volcano in the Atacama Desert, Chile.

Darby Allin is currently preparing to face Jon Moxley in an I Quit match at WrestleDream on October 18.
