A new update has been provided regarding the tournament to decide who will earn a future AEW World Title shot that kicks off this week.
It had been announced that the tournament would begin on Wednesday’s Dynamite, but F4WOnline has now confirmed with AEW that actually all four of the first round matches will be happening October 21.
Those four matches are (in bracket order):
- Penta El Zero M vs. Rey Fenix
- Kenny Omega vs. Joey Janela
- Colt Cabana vs. Hangman Page
- Wardlow vs. Jungle Boy
The final will take place at the November 7 Full Gear pay-per-view, after which the winner will have a shot at the World Championship.
It looks like the World Title bout at the pay-per-view itself will be Jon Moxley vs Eddie Kingston given how the last Dynamite ended but that’s not yet been confirmed.
