AEW
A former AEW name has now made their first in-ring appearance following their departure from the company.
As previously reported, Jimmy Jacobs has left his role on the writing team in AEW.
Per Fightful Select, Jacobs “effectively resigned” from his position on the writing team some time last week.
Jacobs has now made his first wrestling appearance following his AEW departure, showing up at an XICW Detroit show over the weekend to help Adam Wick win the Midwest Championship by attacking MM3.
You can view XICW’s post about Jacobs’ appearance below.
While Jimmy Jacobs was still active in the ring for other promotions during his AEW tenure, he didn’t ever wrestle for AEW while he was on the creative team.
He has wrestled for ROH twice during Tony Khan’s ownership, most recently against Satnam Singh in May.
Jacobs has held creative or producer roles in WWE, IMPACT and AEW now, following his full-time in-ring career.
Per Fightful’s original report, the two sides are still described as being on “amicable terms”, and AEW is going to try to look at Jacobs’ departure as a way to “freshen up” the writers’ room.
