A former AEW Women’s World Champion could be bound for WWE when her current deal ends, according to recent insight.
Following reports about interest that summer, Mariah May’s AEW signing was officially announced in November 2023, with May going on to engage in a blissful friendship and then a brutal feud with “Timeless” Toni Storm.
The former AEW Women’s Champion could be WWE-bound bound according to comments made on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer stated that “people in WWE” were aware that Mariah May wants to sign with the company, saying:
“I know from people in WWE, they know she wants to go there.”
Addressing rumors that May’s contract could be up in the summer, Bryan Alvarez would suggest that this could happen in the near future, explaining:
“I was given the impression it was a two-year deal she signed originally, so I guess you can do the math.”
Alvarez would also state that there were those in AEW who had heard the same thing about Mariah May as Meltzer’s WWE sources, saying:
“I heard the same thing that at least in AEW, there’s a belief that she’s headed to WWE.”
