Hall of Famer and NXT commentator Booker T believes a popular AEW star would currently fit in on WWE TV.
With a number of Starks’ friends previously joining WWE, and Starks not wrestling for AEW in almost nine months, it has been heavily speculated that Starks could join WWE after his AEW deal expires.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T noted that while he believes Starks’ could “make a huge difference” in NXT.
On the topic of if Starks would fit in on NXT, Booker T said:
“Do I think he can fit in NXT right now? Of course. I mean, just like Ethan Page, he can make a huge difference as far as the roster goes. He is very charismatic. He is a guy with upside.
“As far as Ricky Starks’ work, I haven’t really gotten a chance to really see him go out there and do a lot in the ring. But just like Ethan Page when he came to NXT, I didn’t see a lot of him either.
“He showed me what he was worth very quickly, almost immediately… A guy like Starks, if he came over, he’ll do the same thing.”
Ethan Page notably left AEW/ROH in early-2024, before making his WWE NXT debut in May. Page had an 86 day reign with the NXT Championship this year, both winning the gold from and losing it to Trick Williams.
Ricky Starks hasn’t wrestled on AEW TV since he and Big Bill faced off against Top Flight on the March 30 edition of Collision.
Starks is now set to face off against a former AEW star amid his AEW absence, which you can read more about right here.
