Former WWE star Miro has returned to the ring for the first time in 14 months following his AEW departure.

With news of Miro’s AEW exit breaking earlier this month, the former ‘Rusev’ was announced for Qatar Pro Wrestling’s Super Slam III event.

Miro made this appearance on Saturday, February 22, stepping into the ring against a former teammate.

The ex-AEW star faced off against his former WWE League Of Nations teammate and current AAA Mega Champion Alberto Del Rio (aka Alberto El Patron).

Not only was this Miro’s first match following his WWE departure, it was his first bout in a few days shy of 14 months.

Prior to this in-ring return, Miro last wrestled at the December 2023 Worlds End pay-per-view, defeating Andrade in singles action.

Following Miro and AEW mutually agreeing to the termination of his contract, there has been a lot of speculation about Miro potentially returning to WWE.

There appears to be interest on WWE’s side, following reports that Creative has been talking about Miro and another top free agent.
