Former AEW Name Addresses Potential WWE Return Following Contract Expiring WWE/AEW

Maria Kanellis (Maria Kanellis-Bennett) has addressed the possibility of a return to WWE following her official departure from AEW.

After confirming that her AEW contract expired on February 1, Kanellis took to Twitter to tease a WWE Royal Rumble return.

While this ultimately didn’t happen, Kanellis has now commented on the likelihood of a WWE comeback.

Responding to a tweet asking whether or not she’d return to WWE if her husband Mike Bennett did, Maria Kanellis noted that she’s a big fan of everything the company is doing right now, both in and outside the ring.

Kanellis replied:

I love everything they are doing. From marketing to booking. It’s a professionalism that has completely transformed my opinion of @WWE.

Mike Bennett is still signed to AEW at the time of writing.

Kanellis’ first stint with WWE saw her sign with the company in 2004, where she competed as an in-ring talent until February 2010.

She returned to the company in 2017, mainly acting as a valet for her husband Mike Bennett, who wrestled for the company as Mike Kanellis.

The former 24/7 Champion was let go by WWE along with her husband in April 2020.
