AEW’s Renee Paquette has served as a backstage interviewer since her debut but has thought about a move to the commentary team.
Having signed with AEW in October 2022, Paquette has mainly served as a backstage interviewer and presenter on various AEW projects.
She was asked about potentially stepping into the role in AEW during an appearance on Cincy 360, revealing:
“Sometimes, I think about it. There are aspects that I miss, and obviously, this is a far different circumstance with AEW versus what I had done previously.
“I think about it, sometimes. I love getting to do the interviews and I love getting to do the long-form interviews or the exclusive sitdowns. I love getting to do that.
“Every now and then, I’m listening, and I get a little bit of the itch. A little bit. We’ll see.”
Renee Paquette started out as a commentator on WWE NXT in 2013, before ultimately becoming the first woman to serve as a full-time commentator on Raw in 2018.
Paquette more recently served as a commentator for US-based Joshi promotion Sukeban.
Alongside her backstage interviewer role, Paquette is also the host of Close Up on AEW YouTube channel and has previously hosted The Sessions, both of which have been sit-down interview series.
