WWE/AEW
AEW stars Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix of the Lucha Brothers have filed for new trademarks amid speculation about their wrestling futures.
Per the United States Patent & Trademark Office, Penta, via Zero Miedo Corp, and Rey, via The Mexa King Brand, have respectively filed three applications each for new trademarks.
Penta El Zero M filed to cover the following terms:
Zero Miedo, Cero Miedo, AN1MO
Meanwhile, Rey Fenix filed applications to trademark the terms:
Rey Fuego, King Fuego, Fuego
The following description accompanied all filings:
Entertainment services, namely, exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; live appearances by a wrestler; live appearances by an entertainer
The Lucha Bros filing for these trademarks have fuelled speculation that the duo plan to make the jump to WWE, and wanted to retain the rights to these terms.
Reports have indicated that both stars’ AEW contracts will expire this year. WWE reportedly has interest in signing Penta El Zero M, and is expected to have interest in Rey Fenix.
It’s worth noting that the duo moving to WWE is only speculation as of writing. These trademark filings could be for a different reason, for example for when the duo wrestle in Mexico.
Currently, Fenix wrestles as “Lucha Brother” and Penta as “King” when the duo compete in CMLL.
