AEW’s Young Bucks Crossover Title Match Change Confirmed

A change has been made to IWGP Tag Team Championship match set for Wrestle Dynasty, featuring AEW EVPs The Young Bucks.

A number of changes have been made since Matthew and Nicholas Jackson revealed they’d be challenging for the IWGP Tag Team Championship at the January 5 crossover event.

The entire match was in jeopardy after champion Aaron Henare suffered an injury, before Great-O-Khan revealed he would be teaming with a mystery partner for this title match.

Not only has Great-O-Khan’s partner been revealed to be Jeff Cobb, the 2024 World Tag League tournament winners Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi have now been added to the bout, making it a three-way title match.

Naito and Takahashi announced their additions to this match following their singles encounter at the January 4 Wrestle Kingdom 19 event.

After their highly emotional singles encounter on January 4, Hiromu Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito were quick to get back on the same page as a team.

The World Tag League winners secured a guaranteed shot at the IWGP Tag titles with their trophy win, and have exercised that right for Wrestle Dynasty.

As Great-O-Khan has revealed his partner for Dynasty to be the Imperial Unit Jeff Cobb, and both teams are joined by the returning Young Bucks, who will be 106th champions?

This match will be the Young Bucks’ first contest in NJPW since January 2019, excluding Forbidden Door events.
