Kenny Omega defeated Fenix last night at AAA Heroes Inmortales XIII to win the AAA Mega Championship.
The Cleaner put Fenix away with a V-Trigger and One-Winged Angel to emerge victorious after a very hard-fought match.
Fenix – who had held the title since TripleManía XXVI – offered Kenny a handshake after the match, but the latter chose to pass and instead taunted the former champ.
This marks Kenny Omega’s first reign as AAA Mega Champion, and his first title since losing the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom in January.
AEW and AAA have a partnership where they trade talent on each other’s shows, something that has been in place since February, hence why both Omega and Fenix who are contracted to AEW could have this match.
