AJ Lee Reflects On Viral Lita Meeting As Young WWE Fan WWE

AJ Lee has revealed a “pivotal moment” as a young fan with Lita that has shaped her own interactions with fans.

Having returned to WWE earlier this year, AJ Lee recently sat down with Stephanie McMahon for an interview on the What’s Your Story? podcast.

Starting the show by looking back at a 2015 social media post about equal pay in WWE, AJ Lee would look further back at a much earlier interaction.

She would reflect on the first signing she ever went to, sharing how Lita’s kindness would go on to shape how she interacts with fans, saying:

“My first signing was Lita. I wrote her a letter and it was probably the most embarrassing thing in the world. If she had been mean or dismissive or anything, if she was anything but warm and wonderful, who knows what direction I would have went in life. Maybe I would have hated wrestling and never done it.

“So that little girl is starving; she’s probably living in a motel. She (Lita) doesn’t know that, but she’s so kind to m,e and she took the letter and was like ‘I will read this’, and then she gave me her marker, and I kept it for years and years and years.

“That was like a pivotal moment, sliding doors, who knows what would have happened if that didn’t go that way, and I didn’t feel seen.

“So now when I do these signings I’m like ‘you’ve given me your whole day, you’ve traveled here for seven hours, and I only get these two minutes with you, they’re going to be the best f**king two minutes in the world, we are going to become best friends in those two minutes.’”
