WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion AJ Lee has commented on an upcoming title defense, noting that it has been over a decade in the making.
AJ Lee’s next championship challenger was determined on the March 9 Raw episode, following AJ winning the gold from Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber on February 28.
With a Gauntlet match taking place on Raw, Bayley eliminated Ivy Nile and Asuka to ultimately be declared the winner, earning a Women’s IC Title shot.
With AJ Lee set to defend her gold against Bayley on the March 16 Raw episode, the champion has now taken to Twitter to comment on the upcoming match.
Sharing a throwback photo of herself in Bayley’s “I’m a Hugger” t-shirt, AJ wrote:
The two stars have met in the ring once before, with AJ Lee defending the Divas Championship against Bayley on the August 21, 2013 NXT episode.
