AJ Styles was mysteriously absent from last night’s episode of WWE Raw despite having a match announced ahead of the show.
The one match that WWE had announced prior to showtime was a rematch between RK-Bro and AJ Styles & Omos for the Raw Tag Team Title, which didn’t end up happening because Styles was absent from the show.
Instead, WWE held a three-way #1 contender match with the Dirty Dawgs, Street Profits and Alpha Academy, which the Dirty Dawgs won, and then RK-Bro retained over the Dirty Dawgs in a title match later in the show.
Omos, Styles’ tag team partner, did appear during the show, but there was no sign of Styles.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that Styles was absent but the reason why remains a mystery. He said:
“I don’t have an answer. Obviously he wasn’t there and the tag team title match got changed.
“I don’t know if he’s injured. Probably – they didn’t say – probably an injury I suppose. Usually when guys aren’t there it’s an injury.
“But I have not… I have not heard.”

Styles’ most recent outing was at Crown Jewel this past Thursday (October 21) where he and Omos unsuccessfully challenged RK-Bro for the championship.
