It was reported that AJ Styles suffered a hip injury after delivering a forearm to the outside in his WrestleMania 35 clash with Randy Orton.
The former WWE Champion clarified on his MIXER channel last night the exact injury he suffered in his match on the “grandest stage of them all”.
“I sprained my SI (sacroiliac) joint. Nothing too severe. I just need the muscles to ease up and treat a sprain like a sprain. Hopefully, it doesn’t take too long to heal. I’ll be back in action soon. You don’t know the degree of the sprain”.
It is good that Styles has confirmed he shouldn’t be out of action for too long. However, it is interesting to note that he says he suffered the injury after taking a Randy Orton superplex, seemingly rebuffing rumours that the injury was sustained when he hit a forearm to the outside.
This news comes after Styles teased a reunion with Finn Balor, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a WWE Bullet Club on his Twitter.
