The heavily teased matchup between NXT star Grayson Waller and AJ Styles finally has a date set.
On tonight’s (January 4) NXT New Year’s Evil show, AJ Styles came out to confront Grayson Waller. AJ spoke about how he regrets not coming to NXT when he first came to WWE.
Waller then interrupted Styles. AJ challenged Waller to a match on tonight’s show, but Waller denied, instead making the match to main event next week’s episode of NXT 2.0.
This is set to be AJ Styles’ first ever singles match in NXT. AJ’s only previous NXT match came on November 6, 2019, when he teamed with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson against Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee and Riddle.
