AJ Styles Vs. Ricochet Added To WWE Extreme Rules

WWE has announced that United States Champion Ricochet will defend his title against AJ Styles at Extreme Rules this Sunday.

This rivalry began two weeks ago on Raw when AJ defeated Ricochet in the main event in a non-title match.

Then last week, Ricochet told the recently re-signed Good Brothers that if he had another match with AJ, he’d win. They had another match, this time with the title on the line, and AJ won. However, a backstage referee pointed out that Ricochet’s foot was under the bottom rope, and the match was restarted.

Ricochet got the win with a rollup to retain, but what followed was a three-on-one beatdown and the reformation of the Club to close the show.

Ricochet defeated Samoa Joe to win the title for the first time at Stomping Grounds last month, whereas AJ is a two-time US Champion himself.

The confirmed card for Extreme Rules is now as follows:

  • Seth Rollins (Universal Champion) & Becky Lynch (Raw Women’s Champion) vs. Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans – “Winners Take All” Extreme Rules match
  • Undertaker & Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre – No Holds Barred
  • Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Samoa Joe – WWE Championship
  • Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
  • Drew Gulak (c) vs. Tony Nese – WWE Cruiserweight Championship
  • Daniel Bryan & Rowan (c) vs. Big E & Xavier Woods vs. Heavy Machinery – WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships
  • Ricochet (c) vs. AJ Styles – WWE United States Championship
