An update on AJ Styles potentially making his return to TNA Wrestling at this weekend’s Slammiversary pay-per-view.

TNA is set to host it’s Slammiversary event this Sunday in Long Island, New York, with a number of WWE stars set to appear on the show.

NXT star Trick Williams is set to defend his TNA World Championship against both Joe Hendry and Mike Santana in a Triple Threat match, as well as NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne facing off against TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich in a title vs title winner take all match.

Earlier this week, TNA president Carlos Silva was advertising the show, with him putting an emphasis on the word ‘Phenomenal’, which led to speculation that AJ Styles could make an appearance on the show.

In an update from WrestleVotes Radio, AJ Styles is ‘looking likely’ for an appearance on the show, with ‘one or two’ main roster stars also potentially set for appearances on the show.

“We asked around about the phenomenal reference in TNA President Carlos Silva’s recent tweet, and one response we got back was quote, it would make total sense for AJ Styles to appear. AJ Styles, looks likely at this point.

“Another little nugget that we’re hearing amid the speculation there’s been talk within WWE that one or two main roster stars could be headed to TNA Slammiversary this Sunday night on Long Island. We have learned that discussions have transpired regarding other talent there as well Sunday night.”

AJ Styles is seemingly set to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at WWE SummerSlam.
